Romsey shop survives cull by new owners
ROMSEY'S Motor World store has survived a take over which has resulted in more than half the company's outlets closing.
Motor World Ltd went in administration last Friday and this led to closure of around 95 of its 194 stores across Britain including shops at Eastleigh and Shirley in Southampton. Those that survived are now owned by Pacific Retail Ltd which plans to retain the Motor World brand name. Motor World was the UK's largest independent car parts and accessories retailer and had been in business for more than 40 years.
A spokesman at the Romsey store who did not wished to be named said: "It all happened very quickly. We are still selling the same stuff and are now open for business as usual."
Motor World's Romsey shop at Abbey Walk shop was closed from Friday until Wednesday morning while stock from some stores that were closed was transferred to it.
