Sherfield English fun day this weekend
VILLAGERS at Sherfield English will be stepping up their fund-raising activities for a brand new £180,000 sports pavilion when they stage their annual village fun day on Sunday.
The event stage at noon and is being organised by the Sherfield English Recreation Project, which has already provided new toddlers' play equipment at the recreation ground this year.
The event starts at midday and will feature a range of attractions including the Romsey Old Cadets marching band, the Lockerley Silver Band and a dancing display troupe.
There will also be a family dog show, a bouncy castle, dog scurry racing, a coconut shy, barbecue and bar.
The recreation ground's soccer pitches are now extremely well-used, with two Sherfield English teams and the Salisbury City youth side using it on Sundays and Hiltingbury playing there on Saturdays.
