Gruck-racing for good cause
MOTTISFONT Football Club is staging its annual "gruck-racing" event on the River Test on Sunday.
The decoy ducks will be taking part in eight races at Mottisfont Abbey, one of which will be in aid of Wessex Cancer's Jane Scarth House.
Admission is free and races get under way at 5.30pm. There will be a barbecue and tote facilities so racegoers can have a flutter.
Eight organisations have sponsored the grucks and a trophy and plaque will be presented to the winner.
This year's event also has a main sponsor in the form of Ace Liftaway.
