Phone snatched

ROMSEY police were this week trying to trace the driver of a white van who turned up at Wellow's village shop, stole a mobile phone from a parked car with its owner standing only feet away and then drove off.

The incident happened at the Nisa store at around 2.30pm on Friday and a police spokesman explained that the phone and its cradle was snatched from a Nissan Prima Star vehicle and that the offender then got back into his Ford Transirt and drove off.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact Romsey Police on 0845 045 45 45.
