Campaign in line for 'Oscar'
TWO dozen companies have been shortlisted
for the Wessex round
of the Chartered Institute
of Public Relations
PRide Awards.
One of the finalists
in the Not for Profit
category is The
Churches of Winchester
who are hoping
that their publicity
campaign for the Winchester
Passion will
bring them an industry
"Oscar".
The Remarkable
Group, also from Winchester,
was named
Outstanding Agency
of the Year in 2007
and has again been
shortlisted for the
title. It has also been
nominated in the categories
for Integrated Communications,
which it won last year,
Crisis Communications,
Business &
Trade and Community
Relations.
Footprint Communications,
of Alresford,
has reached the final
in two categories, Outstanding
Small Consultancy
and
Community Relations,
while staff member,
Yiannaki Loizou, is
hoping to win Outstanding
Young Communicator.
Last year's awards
ceremony was in
Brighton: this year's is
at The Botleigh Grange
Hotel on November 12
and the winners will
go forward to the
national final.
"The awards are a
reminder of the highquality
PR work being
carried out in Hampshire,
Dorset and the
Isle of Wight in all
kinds of companies
and diverse markets," said Wessex committee
chairman, Mike Kean.
"This year, I was
really pleased to see
more smaller, newer
companies represented
as well as the better-
known brands.
"The awards are not
a reflection of how big
the company is or the
size of the budget, but
how well key messages
were communicated
to audiences
and what impact or
effect they created."
