Spanish store selects Winchester

WINCHESTER is one of the first cities in Britain to have a Naturhouse store, which aims to help people in losing weight.

Already trading in 15 other countries, the Spanish-based firm has now turned its attentions to the UK.

After opening stores in London and Cheltenham earlier this year, Winchester is now its third shop in Britain, with further outlets planned.

The firm offers consultations with trained dieticians, with the first session lasting around 40 minutes. Follow up meetings last for around 15 minutes, where customers are measured to check their progress.

The consultations are free, and the store makes its money from selling dietary supplements, which typically cost between £20 and £30 per week.

Supplements are made from a variety of plants, vegetables and fruits, and come in a mixture of syrups, capsules and liquids.

Manager of the Winchester store, Myriam Faure, said: "During the first consultation I ask questions regarding medical history, diet and lifestyle habits and take measurements.

"From then I design a diet adapted to the client and along with that diet comes the supplements. During the follow-ups I take the measurements again, checking the progress and adjusting their diet and supplements."

Along with weight loss, the store also offers complimentary medicines to reduce stress, along with circulation and digestion problems.

The Winchester store is based in Middle Brook Street on the ground floor of the Brooks Centre. The firm has a five-year lease on the unit, which was marketed by property agent, Goadsby.
